Kitten Care

Building immunity is key for a healthy start in life

Kittens are delicate and inquisitive beings and require early protection against serious diseases.

At Kingsgrove Animal Hospital, we are here to help you navigate your way through everything there is to know about kitten care. Kittens require extra support and attention during their early years.  Booking an appointment to introduce us to your new best friend is a great start.

Like puppies, we recommend that kittens are vaccinated 3 times in the first 4-5 months of life. After this, they only require annual boosters or just a health check depending on their lifestyle and habits, which can be discussed with our vets.  These core and optional (non-core) vaccinations are briefly discussed here.

Kitten Vaccination schedule:

6-8 weeks: First Vaccination (F3/F4)

10-12weeks: First Booster Vaccination (F3/F4)

14-16 weeks: Second Booster Vaccination (F3/F4)

Topics for discussion will include:

  • Vaccination
  • Microchip and registration with NSW Pet Registry
  • Intestinal & Heart Worm
  • Flea and Tick treatment
  • Exercise & Nutrition
  • Desexing
  • Behavioural Advice
Booking an appointment to introduce your new best friend is a smart start!
